Who are we?


Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta is an independent Catholic school for girls, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1889 and entrusted to Mercy Partners in 2021. The opportunity

The Head of Diverse Learning plays a vital role within the College, ensuring that each student has equitable access to learning opportunities. The position reinforces OLMC’s commitment to supporting student growth towards independence while maintaining compliance with the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD). The Head of Diverse Learning ensures that students with disabilities are supported to achieve their full potential, while nurturing the gifts and talents of each student and ensuring that Catholic practices and Mercy Values underpin all aspects of life in the school.



About You

  • Relevant tertiary and teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Disability Standards for Education (2005) and NCCD, including evidence requirements and moderation processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading inclusive education practices, including personalised plans, reasonable adjustments, curriculum differentiation and assessment adjustments including NESA disability provisions.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a Diverse Learning Team providing leadership to improve student outcomes.
  • Highly developed communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated capacity to work effectively with teachers, wellbeing staff, students, parents and external professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex casework, documentation and compliance requirements, maintaining accurate records and sustainable systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, student agency and confidentiality, aligned with the Catholic ethos and values of OLMC.
  • Willingness to actively support and participate in the life of the College, and uphold its Catholic mission and Mercy values.
  • Willingness to participate in the co-curricular life of the College (noting that there are no regular weekend sporting commitments).
  • A current Working with Children Check clearance.

Describe your approach to deciding when in-class support or targeted classroom withdrawal is most appropriate for a student with diverse learning needs. In your response, outline the benefits of each approach and how you would facilitate the gradual withdrawal of adjustments to promote student independence as needed.
